Reading Activities

Here are some of our reading activities. We had to make a word out of the tiles by adding the beginning sound.
We talked about Wellington and made the Beehive out of play dough.

Oamaru

Oamaru is the home of the Blue and Yellow eyed penguins.

Karta, Sadie and Alysha found out some information about Oamaru

• It is in Otago
• It is in the South Island
• It is an old town
• There are lots of penguins there

Dunedin

We are learning about New Zealand and the students were asked to find out information about Dunedin.  Summer found out lots of interesting things.

• Cadbury Chocolate Factory
• Albatros Colony
• Museum
• Aquarium
• University
• Summer visited Dunedin when she was 2 years old

What do you know about DUNEDIN?

Elgregoe

We a really cool magician come to school on Tuesday.  Wow!  His tricks were great.  After the show, we talked about how he did some of the tricks.  

Here Elgregoe is with his macaw.  The macaw was pulled out of an empty box.  How could he hide such a big bird.             

 

Elgregoe told us we can all be HEROs.  

HERO stands for Helpful, Encouraging, Respectful and Opportunities.  We think that HERO fits in well with our RAINBOW school.
